Quote of the Month

"In the end, the customer doesn't know, or care, if you are small or large as an organization... she or he only focuses on the garment hanging on the rail in the store." ~ Giorgio Armani

Reflect, Evaluate, and Grow

There comes a time in every business when you need to reflect back on where you came from and where you have in mind to go. We all experience lulls in our business. Some businesses may be geared to seasonal spurts, while others enjoy a steady stream of income. No matter which type of business you own, evaluating the different parts of the whole, separately, can be of profound benefit.

With marketing, the key to success is found in reflection and evaluation. However, when was the last time you evaluated your products or services? Are they all making you money or could you update or eliminate some to make room for new?

As an example, I offer MaryKay products to a few select friends so that I can buy them wholesale. One thing I can tell you for certain is that MaryKay's products are always being updated and improved. Perhaps it may be their packaging only, but at every turn, their makeup is being tried, tested, reviewed, evaluated, and updated. This has been one of their key tools to success.

In my graphics and publishing businesses, my products are always changing. Each client requires unique and custom designs and books. As I learn new techniques and gain experience my products improve and change.

However, sometimes evaluating the need to offer a particular style or to learn a new technique must be carefully contemplated. You must prudently consider whether your clients or customers would benefit from an update of your product line. If so, take the initiative and learn a new skill or technique or try out a new product.

Reflect on how much fun you will have when you have something new to offer. Besides that, think about what a great opportunity it will be to promote your business, in a new and unique light, your new product or skill will present.

Tip for Success

Have you ever wanted to share what you are seeing on your screen but don't know how? The answer is in your keyboard. That little button on the top, right row that says, "Print Screen" is all you need.

If you want everything you see, (all the windows that are open) in your "Screenshot" simply depress that button one time. However, if you want just the top most "window", then you will want to hit Alt+Print Screen.

Now you have the image saved in your pastboard. All you need to do is go to your document and paste it in using either the Ctrl+V or Edit > Paste command.
